Dr. Laura Zelaya

Doctor of Chiropractic

Provider profile

Dr. Laura Zelaya is a doctor of chiropractic who uses functional movement and active therapies to treat musculoskeletal pain and correct the underlying aberrant joint motion that causes it. Where patients are often taught to focus on what their bodies cannot do, she prefers to educate them on what the body is capable of when given the opportunity.

Provider training and background were checked against the clinic's published biography. Treatment recommendations require an individual examination.

Biochemistry, chiropractic, and sports rehabilitation

Dr. Zelaya graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2015, then attended the University of Western States where she received her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2020.

She has an extensive background of education focused on sports rehabilitation therapies, including advanced soft-tissue techniques such as myofascial release, and rehabilitative strengthening and corrective exercise to address the structural changes that may be causing pain. She also uses passive modalities including therapeutic ultrasound, cold laser therapy, electrical stimulation, and radial pressure wave therapy, alongside instrument-assisted techniques such as Graston Technique.

Personal philosophy

Dr. Zelaya believes care should be available to patients of all ages, with individualized care plans designed around their lifestyles. She is passionate about providing care for whole families and guiding patients through every stage of life, from sports injuries to daily fatigue.

Quality of life is paramount in her treatment goals, and keeping patients active, healthy, and involved with their families is her top priority. Her treatment plans combine a variety of techniques geared toward each patient's own performance goals.

From Orange County to the Lakes Region

Dr. Zelaya was born and raised in Orange County, California, and moved to New Hampshire in 2020. When she is not in the clinic you will find her hiking with her dog Juniper, paddleboarding, and exploring the wildlife ecology of New Hampshire.

Return planning should reflect the environment a person actually moves in. Flat clinic floors cannot fully represent a rocky trail, changing water, repetitive work, or fatigue late in a game.
