Two clinics across New Hampshire.
Portsmouth on the Seacoast, Alton in the Lakes Region. Both clinics offer chiropractic care and physical therapy, and you are welcome at either one.
Choose a clinic
Come to whichever clinic is easier for you
You are not assigned to one office. Most people pick the clinic that is simplest to get to, and plenty of patients use both depending on the week. Your records follow you either way.
The Portsmouth clinic is on Greenleaf Woods Drive and serves the Seacoast, weekdays only. The Alton clinic is on Village Circle, serves the Lakes Region, and is the one with Saturday morning hours and later weekday evenings. Each location page has the full schedule, address, phone number, directions, and what to bring to a first visit. Call either number if you want a particular clinician or help choosing the right kind of appointment.
What stays the same at either location
The clinic you choose should still give you a clear diagnosis, a measurable plan, and a safe route back to activity.
Bring the same useful information to either clinic: the symptom timeline, a current medication list, relevant imaging or surgical records, and the specific task you want to regain. If the problem followed major trauma or includes worsening weakness, spreading numbness, fever, breathing trouble, or another urgent change, seek appropriate medical evaluation instead of waiting for a routine appointment.
Coverage and referrals
Clinical access does not guarantee insurance payment
New Hampshire practice rules and an individual insurance contract answer different questions, which is why referral language needs care.
New Hampshire law supports direct clinical access. It does not require every insurance plan to pay every provider, visit, technique, or service without its own conditions.
Before the first visit, ask about network status, deductibles, copay or coinsurance, authorization, referral language, visit limits, and coverage for the appointment type. The clinic can provide information, while the insurer controls the benefits attached to the contract. Record the date, representative, and reference number when a coverage answer is important.
Patients traveling from Maine should identify their home state and insurance plan when booking. The in-person clinic is in New Hampshire, while a plan's network and any later cross-state telehealth arrangement can have additional rules. Do not assume that proximity across the state line resolves those details.
Prepare once
What to gather before either clinic visit
Good preparation reduces repeated history-taking and gives the provider more time to examine the problem that brought you in.
Write a short symptom timeline: when it began, whether there was an injury, where symptoms start and travel, what makes them better or worse, and what has changed. Include prior episodes and treatment response. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis, and the name another person used for a similar pain may not fit your presentation.
Bring a current medication and supplement list, relevant diagnoses, recent surgery details, imaging reports, and precautions from another clinician. A report is usually more useful than an image on a phone, though the provider may request additional records. Tell the clinic ahead of time when communication assistance or another accommodation is needed.
Choose one or two concrete goals. Sleeping through the night, lifting a work load, walking a specific duration, returning to a running distance, or completing practice gives the examination and later progression a destination. A broad goal such as feeling better can be refined into a task that both patient and provider can measure.
Plan for attendance
How travel, schedule, and home work affect the result
A technically ideal plan that cannot be attended or completed is not ideal for the patient living it.
Ask how often the provider expects to reassess the plan, which visits must be in person, and what can be completed independently. Frequency should be connected to diagnosis, irritability, learning needs, and progress rather than a fixed package offered before the evaluation. The schedule can change as self-management and capacity improve.
A home plan should fit available time, equipment, and space. Tell the provider about shift work, caregiving, transportation, seasonal travel, and recovery limits. A smaller program completed consistently can provide better information than a long program that repeatedly fails because it was never realistic.
If weather, illness, or travel interrupts care, contact the clinic rather than guessing how to compress or double the plan. After surgery or a significant injury, missed time may change progression. For a stable condition, the provider may be able to adjust independent work until the next available visit.
Know the route
Routine appointment, urgent evaluation, or emergency care?
Location pages help with planned care. They are not the right destination for every sudden or severe change.
Call 911 for chest pain, breathing trouble, signs of stroke, loss of consciousness, or another life-threatening change. After a head impact, worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizure, increasing confusion, unusual drowsiness, slurred speech, unequal pupils, weakness, or numbness needs emergency evaluation.
Prompt medical evaluation is also appropriate after major trauma with deformity or inability to use a limb, for a hot swollen joint with fever, rapidly progressive weakness, or new loss of bladder or bowel control with saddle-area numbness. Do not drive past emergency resources to reach a routine sports injury appointment.
For a non-emergency scheduling question, call the clinic-specific number. Portsmouth is (603) 431-4200 and Alton is (603) 875-4000. For routine requests, book online by choosing chiropractic or physical therapy, and use the intake link for new-patient paperwork. Ordinary email is not the right channel for an urgent symptom or highly sensitive medical detail.
Practical answers
Questions to resolve before the first visit
Which clinic has Saturday hours?
Alton. The Lakes Region clinic is open Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Portsmouth is closed Saturday and Sunday. Confirm the appointment date, provider, and holiday schedule before traveling.
Which clinic is open latest?
Alton, at 7:00 PM Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and 6:30 PM Tuesday and Thursday. Portsmouth closes at 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 5:00 PM Friday.
Can I complete intake before choosing a location?
Request the appointment and confirm its location, then complete the clinic's external new-patient intake. Contact the office if the portal information does not match the appointment you expected.
Are directions based on the clinic name or street address?
The location pages use the published street address for map placement and provide a separate directions link. This avoids a broad name search that can show the wrong practice or clinic.
Can the clinic guarantee my travel time?
No. Community lists are geographic context, not travel-time promises. Weather, season, traffic, road work, and starting point can change the trip.
What if I need an accessibility accommodation?
Contact the clinic before the visit and describe the task or format that creates a barrier. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis to request help with access or communication.
How should I verify a weather or holiday closure?
Call the clinic before traveling. Published weekly hours do not automatically reflect a storm, holiday, provider absence, or temporary closure, and a scheduling confirmation only identifies the appointment, so a same-day call is the better check whenever conditions may have changed.
Can I switch clinics or providers after care has started?
Yes. Patients are not tied to one office or one clinician, and you can be seen in either clinic or in both. Your notes live on the clinic server and are available to whichever provider of that discipline you are scheduled with, so switching does not restart your history. Just ask the office to confirm the new appointment, provider, and service.
What if a map pin and the written address disagree?
Use the written clinic address as the reference and call the location-specific number before traveling. Do not follow a pin that names another practice or a different town. Report the conflicting map or page so the clinic can check visible directions and structured data together.
Should I arrive early for a first visit?
Ask the clinic for its current arrival guidance. Extra time may be useful when intake, insurance details, records, accessibility arrangements, or an unfamiliar building are involved, but the website should not invent a universal minute requirement. Confirm the appointment and bring the requested information. Call ahead when weather, mobility, or another access issue may affect arrival.
Can a family member or support person come with me?
Ask the clinic about its current visitor and room-capacity practices. A support person can help with communication, history, mobility, or decision-making when appropriate, while privacy and consent still belong to the patient. Tell the office ahead of time when the support person's presence is important for access.
Ready to feel better and perform better?
Call the clinic that's closest to you or request a time online. The team can help you check plan-specific referral and insurance requirements.
