Laura Zelaya, DC - Chiropractic Sports Physician
Dr. Laura Zelaya graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2015. She then attended the University of Western States where she received her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2020. Dr. Zelaya uses functional movement and active therapies to treat musculoskeletal pain and to correct the underlying aberrant joint motion that causes it. Often, we are taught to focus on what our bodies cannot do and cannot handle. In contrast, Dr Zelaya prefers to educate patients on what the body is capable of when given the opportunity.Dr. Zelaya’s treatment plans include a variety of techniques that are specifically geared towards helping her patients reach their performance goals.
Dr Zelaya has an extensive background of education that focuses on sports rehabilitation therapies, including advanced soft tissue techniques, such as myofacial release, rehabilitative strengthening and corrective exercises to correct structural changes that may be causing pain. She uses passive modalities, such as therapeutic ultrasound, cold laser therapy, electrical stimulation, and radial pressure wave therapy (shockwave therapy), in addition to instrument assisted techniques, such as Graston Technique, to assist her in helping the patient achieve relief from their symptoms.
Personal Philosophy
Dr. Zelaya believes that care should be available to all patients of all ages, with individualized care plans designed around their lifestyles. She is passionate about providing care for whole families and guiding her patients through all the stages of their lives, from sports injuries to daily fatigue. Quality of life is paramount in Dr. Laura’s treatment goals, and keeping her patients active, healthy, and involved with their families her top priority. Dr Zelaya was born and raised in Orange County California and moved to New Hampshire in 2020. When she’s not in the clinic, you will find her hiking with her dog Juniper, paddle boarding, and exploring the wildlife ecology here in New Hampshire.
